Bridges I Crossed

 Washington Crossing Bridge

Washington Crossing Bridge is a beautiful small bridge build over the Delaware River. This bridge connects New Jersey with Pennsylvania. This bridge is 267 m long and has 2 lanes for vehicular traffic. This is a Toll free bridge. The bridge is one of the most rare truss type design still in existence today. Today most of the truss design bridges have been replaced but the Washington Crossing Bridge has been maintained well enough that it still remains in service.

There is a bike/walking lane that runs parallel along the bridge. Both sides of the bridge has incredibly beautiful views and you can often find people swimming or boating in the river during sunny summer days. If you are travelling by a car, there is a parking spot at the end of the bridge where you can park your car and enjoy your walk on the bridge.

And not just that, at the end of the bridge is Washington Crossing State Park on New Jersey side along the Delaware river. The park's natural area consists of mixed hardwood forest and fields that offer location for hiking, picnics and natural walks.

Below I have attached some unedited pictures of Washington Crossing Bridge which I crossed while visiting Delaware. I prefer taking toll free routes and love road trips in countryside areas and discovering interesting places just like this one. These pictures were taken in summer 2021, last week of July, it was a beautiful, warm sunny day.
